The Sept-Îles bird sanctuary

Off the coast of Perros-Guirec, just a few minutes by boat from Castel Beau Site, the Sept-Îles archipelago is home to France's oldest bird sanctuary. Established in 1912 and later designated a national nature reserve in 1976, it now spans nearly 20,000 hectares of marine territory. Rouzic Island hosts the only French colony of northern gannets, with over 20,000 breeding pairs recorded. Atlantic puffins, Manx shearwaters, razorbills, and European shags also find refuge here. A colony of about thirty grey seals lives permanently on the archipelago's rocks. Several boat companies offer guided excursions departing from Perros-Guirec, including the replica of the lobster boat Sant C'hireg, which sails with the wind. A stop on Île aux Moines allows visitors to explore the fort restored by the Conservatoire du littoral. This sea trip offers an unparalleled view of the Pink Granite Coast from the water, with one small drawback: you won't be able to spot our hotel, tucked away at the back of its cove.
